Alyson’s influences

I’ve decided to share a rare glimpse of my practice in the build up to creating new work. It’s a strange process that can at times seem like doing nothing but thinking is not doing nothing! This video is a compilation of the images I have gathered around me whilst making Synapse which will launch @somerset_art_works Sanctuary Festival on 24th September.
I give my apologies to Getty and Alamy and any other companies who might own these images - I have only been using them for reference and your credits are right there in the video!
The pace and intensity of connections in the reel is a reflection of the ever expanding mushroom cloud of ideas that network in my very dyspraxic mind. Sometimes I’d love to turn it off for a rest but I wouldn’t trade it in. However, for those of you who don’t see in words or think in pictures you may need to watch twice but I hope the sensation at least gives a sense of what’s it’s like to be me and the essence of what I’ve been cooking up for the past months @emergeinbath
