‘I’ve been knitting more thin, red sculptures over the past months, preparing to set up an immersive installation with @social.scaffold.artists as part of Somerset Art Weeks @somerset_art_works.

I really do knit anywhere and everywhere…. I call it my ‘anywhere everywhere’ studio.

It’s very different to work in this way, I think. The process of knitting like this is relaxing and extremely satisfying. I don’t follow a pattern but set myself a few rules (which I often break!) I call it my stream of consciousness knitting. I make decisions but the work grows intuitively.

When I’m by myself and I knit like this, I quickly enter that meditative state where time flies - Csikzentmihalyi’s flow.
